Center for Rural Affairs

Andrea (Andi) McClintic is the Assistant Director of Lending Services for the Center for Rural Affairs (CFRA), based in Elwood, Nebraska. She also teaches computer classes for Central Community College in Kearney, Lexington, and Holdrege. With a career dedicated to economic development, small business support, and community growth, she has worked in various leadership roles, always focusing on strengthening Nebraska’s rural communities.

Previously, McClintic served as the Executive Director of the Dawson County Area Economic Development Council (DAD) for nearly five years. She also spent over six years as a Business Development Consultant for the Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) and three years as the Associate Director of External Relations at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Career Services, helping employers connect with students for internships and full-time opportunities.

McClintic earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management and Human Resources from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. She then pursued her passion for public service by earning a Master of Public Administration with an emphasis in Local Government from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She hopes to one day serve in the Nebraska Legislature, advocating for policies that support and sustain rural communities. She is also a graduate of the Economic Development Institute (EDI) and the Institute for Organizational Management (IOM).

Growing up in a town of fewer than 300 people, McClintic deeply understands the importance of rural communities and their vitality. This passion fuels her work at CFRA, where she helps individuals achieve their dreams of home and business ownership. She takes pride in CFRA’s commitment to not only providing loans but also guiding applicants through the process—offering education and support to ensure long-term success. McClintic said that “playing even a small role in helping people reach their version of the American Dream is incredibly rewarding,” and that is why she will continue to work with small businesses and communities here in her home state of Nebraska.

Beyond her professional work, McClintic has been actively engaged in her communities and statewide initiatives. She was the inaugural recipient of Kearney’s Young Professional of the Year award and is a graduate of Leadership Kearney (Class #15) and the first class of Leadership UNK. She currently serves on the University of Nebraska’s President’s Advisory Council for President Gold and is a member of the Six Regions One Nebraska Mid-Plains region. She has also contributed to BluePrint Nebraska as a subject matter expert on the Leadership, Diversity, and Inclusion committee.

Her board and leadership experience includes serving on the boards of Leadership Kearney, the American Red Cross, Connecting Young Nebraskans, The Sun Theatre and Gothenburg Community Playhouse, and the World Theatre Foundation. She has also been president of the Nebraska Business and Professional Women organization, Teammates Board (Kearney), Salvation Army Board, and the Kearney Jaycees. Additionally, she was selected as part of the 2019-2021 Sherwood Foundation Catalyst cohort.

McClintic is passionate about making Nebraska accessible and welcoming—not only for current residents and businesses but also for future generations and those considering moving to the state.
